The CASDP is a component of the statewide technical assistance system for After School Education and Safety (ASES) and 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21stCCLC) programs. The purpose of this program is to model and promote high quality after school practices, and provide statewide support to other after school programs in the state.
The peer-based CASDP system, the After School Regional Lead system, the California After School Resource Center (CASRC), and the After School Program Consultants are the components of the directly-funded CDE statewide technical assistance system working together with a focus on improving program quality in ASES and 21st CCLC programs.
Program Specific Information:
The Tutoring Center is an exemplary after school program serving 120 Marshall Elementary students year-round. The program combines academic supports, art and recreation electives, and multiple service learning opportunities to create a safe and engaging youth development environment. The TC infuses "college messaging" throughout its curriculum to ensure that kids visualize early for the college experience.
