We envision a world in which service, social justice and global awareness are critical components of education for youth everywhere, creating a generation of young people who think of ‘service’ as an integrated part of their day to day existence and lead initiatives in their communities that improve lives.
Living Histories is based on the principle that all young people should have the opportunity to learn and live up to their fullest potential, and that education is a tool to improve the quality of life. Living Histories reconceptualizes education, defining it as the primary tool through which youth and students engage in and change their communities.
Living Histories has a ten year history of creating and implementing award winning programming and curriculum that helps youth find their own voice, and in turn, encourages them to use that voice for the betterment of society as a whole. As we enter into our second decade, Living Histories is excited to be connecting with another generation of students through our art and literacy based project learning models.
