YDN help organizations and communities create life changing experiences for youth success. We do this through our life changing trainings, networking opportunities and policy advocacy work. Our trainings help adults in organizations take youth development research and put youth development principles and concepts into practice at the program and organizational level. We use the Gambone Framework for Practice developed for the Community Network for Youth Development. Our trainings focus on helping organizations create emotionally and physically safe environments, caring relationships between adults and student and students and students, ensuring youth have voice, choice and leadership, opportunities to impact their community and develop skills in engaging and challenging ways. We also offer skills based trainings in group facilitation methods, cultural awareness, service learning and project based learning strategies, using multiple intelligences, how to structure programs to maximize youth leadership and voice, youth serving on boards, creating high end leadership curriculum for youth, youth development management practices and skills for supervisors and agency managers, youth program quality assessment, conflict mediation( for other trainings see our web site). YDN has extensive experience in training youth directly in leadership skills and can run youth leadership camps and help your organization create youth leaders who can provide leadership in the organization or at a community policy and advocacy level. YDN does agency coaching as well as on site training. We also offer your staff opportunities to network with other youth providers in the Sacramento Region.
