I am a consultant and trainer with over thirty years experience in school age/afterschool, as a practitioner, administrator, and trainer/consultant. I am currently the Executive Director of Oakland Elizabeth House, a transitional program for women and their children. Current consulting organizations include Local 2/Hospitality Child and Elder Care Plan and the Crissy Field Center. I am a CalSAC Trainer.
I have worked with children, infant through high school, and have managed and supervised a variety of programs. I have co-supervised Play Activity Therapy groups, supervised a pilot program to include children and youth with special needs in daily programming and worked in a mental health intervention program for children from at-risk environments. I am the co-author of the revised book, School-Age Ideas and Activities For School-Age Programs.
I promote professionalism, skill and leadership development, and work to improve program quality by helping participants organize prior knowledge and experience, offering new information and theory, and providing the environment, structure, and opportunity for application.
